It is with heavy heart and sincere condolences that we report that one of our football brothers from the South Beach Seahawks passed away today.
South Beach Seniors player Zachary Sealey was called home to be with the Lord today. Out of respect to Coach Robert Sealey and family, as well as a lack of full details, we will leave this post brief in commentary, but will encourage all of our Hawks families to say a prayer tonight to honor this young man and his grieving family.
At SVYFL, we choose to limit the amount of decals that we allow on our helmets to promote team unity, but we will order a red #87 circular sticker for all of our Hawks players to remember our brother and friend.
In times like these, it’s important to remember that rivalry does not matter. Ultimately, the game of football does not matter. The bonds and relationships forged throughout participation, however, matters intensely. Zachary was someone’s son, someone’s friend, and someone’s teammate.
We post this in hopes of being absolutely respectful to the Sealey family. We appreciate your prayers and thoughts for the family during this unimaginably difficult time.
