9. What is the cutoff date to determine which age group a player is assigned to?
We use the Fall tackle football age cutoff. Your child’s age as of August 1st of the preceding year is their NFL Flag age. Example: If they turned 11 on August 1st they are 11 for the purposes of our league. If they turn 11 after that date they are 10 for the purposes of our league.
10. Are there play downs?
There are no play-downs in NFL Flag. We run a non contact flag football format.

In some cases players will be randomly assigned, but for the most part coaches, players, and parents choose the teams.

We are always in need of coaches and volunteers. Anyone wishing to participate on the field with players will have to fill out a Coach’s Volunteer form and submit to a background check.
13. How many players are on each team?
NFL Flag is a fast paced game and it can be difficult to spread playing time around. 8 players are recommended; however, in the interest of keeping friends together we will allow more at the coach’s discretion.
14. Are referees provided by the league?
No. Games are self officiated. Each team must provide 1 volunteer to help spot the ball, run the clock and call flagrant penalties.
15. Do I have to find a sponsor for my team?
No. Sponsors are not required for NFL Flag.
