The Spirit of Our Sidelines

Welcome to Hawks Cheer

Welcome to SVYFL Cheer, home of the Hawks!

SVYFL Cheer is part of the Atlantic Coast Youth Athletics Association (ACYAA) and proudly supports our Hawks tackle football program. Our cheerleaders perform at tackle football games and compete at the local and regional levels, with the opportunity to advance to national competition.

SVYFL has built a strong partnership with the Viera High School Cheer program, serving as a feeder program for many years. Through our Mini Hawk Cheer Camp and the support of Viera High School Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleaders, our athletes learn the latest techniques while developing confidence, teamwork, and school pride.

What to Expect During the Season

Hawks Cheer is a competitive program that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Summer practices focus on conditioning and skill development before football season begins in August. Cheerleaders perform at Hawks tackle football games throughout the fall, with approximately half of those games taking place at our home field, the Hawk's Nest at Viera Regional Park.

Competition season begins in late October and may continue through December, depending on team advancement. Throughout the season, athletes build lasting friendships while creating a family atmosphere that extends to parents, siblings, grandparents, and fans.

Safety and Certified Coaching

The safety and development of every athlete is our highest priority.

All cheer coaches and team moms complete thorough background checks. Coaches are required to complete approved coaching education, including YCADA or other league-approved training, covering tumbling, stunting, concussion awareness, heat illness prevention, and athlete safety.

Our experienced coaches focus on teaching proper fundamentals while building confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong love of cheer.
